Edward F. Hung graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1978. Before being called to the Bar in 1980, he articled with Arthur Maloney, a prominent high-profile criminal lawyer and Ontario's first Ombudsman, and the litigation firm of Beard, Winter & Gordon. Immediately following admission to the Bar, he was appointed Assistant Crown Attorney for the Judicial District of Peel. He is the first Chinese speaking lawyer to hold that position in Ontario. This appointment allowed Edward Hung to gain valuable courtroom experience and knowledge in criminal law.
During the four and a half years as crown prosecutor, Edward Hung also taught the course "Criminal Law Today", a course he founded, to students at Sheridan College in Brampton as well as lecturing to police forces.
In September 1984, Edward Hung left the Attorney General's Office to enter private practice. Today, The Law Office of Edward F. Hung not only represents clients in criminal matters but also in family, immigration and civil litigation cases at all levels of courts in Ontario. Given Edward Hung's unwavering commitment to his clients and success in difficult and complex cases, the demand for his legal services has always been immense.
Mr. Hung's success has been noticed by the media. He has contributed numerous articles to the Sing Tao Daily News, the World Journal and Korea Times. He has appeared often on television including co-hosting a six month law program at Fairchild TV in 1997. For many years he hosted a weekly radio law program at CHIN Radio Toronto which is the longest running show in the history of the Chinese program at CHIN.
Mr. Hung was featured on the Discovery Channel, Forensic Factor Program, concerning one of his high-profile cases, in November 2005.
